Cows, Cows, Cows

Ok, so Pine Valley's cows visited us here in the park again today. Josie & Jeff had a great time chasing them back up the hill & back to their home pasture (or more accurately, JOSIE had a great time, Jeff didn't enjoy it so much as he was on foot, in deep snow and climbing steep hills). But, it's what Josie lives for. And, about 2 hours after they were chased out... guess who came amblin' back? Yup - cows. Tomorrow will see if a solution is forthcoming from the ranch.

Meanwhile, I was actually productive today! I quilted, cleaned, washed/dried AND FOLDED clothes, cooked a ham dinner and made green tomato mince pie for the potluck. I also prepared everything for the ham & au gratin dish that I'm also taking for the potluck. AND... I got lots of reading done as well! :)

Jeff shot 3 Quail - but not for dinner. Have you ever actually seen how much meat you get off a quail? Their poor little breasts - there might be all of 3 bites there. So, they're in the freezer awaiting more of their number to be slain. Then, perhaps, we can have "Spiced Quayle" for dinner!

Here's my Josie - enjoying our snow yesterday!

First Words

So, it seems to be the thing to share everything with everyone, so here's my not so subtle jump onto the community bandwagon. Actually, I thought perhaps this would help me journal a little better - and allow me to go back & remind myself of past occurrances. Such as a couple days ago when my husband hit his head on the trunk of my Geo Metro. I looked at it & it was obviously going to hurt, so I said "That's going to sting" - but, being more than 1/2 deaf, he thought I said "That's going to stain" and he started asking "How bad is it?" So, a new "inside joke" has been added to our life. Now anytime anyone gets hurt, we say "Wow - that's going to stain!".

Well, let's see if I keep up with this or not..... stay tuned!
