Never a Dull Moment

Ok... so there ARE dull moments... but seldom completely dull days! This morning, we are trying to evaluate our nights sleep on the different mattress. We THINK it's a little better, but still didn't get much sleep and are trying to determine the underlying reason out of the several that leap out. What are those reasons you ask? Well...

The obvious one was the banging of things all night. Why were they banging? Because the wind was howling. Why was it so loud? Because all our windows were open. Why were they open? Ok - review here: Remember when I told you that the heater in our cabin doesn't have a thermostat? It's just on all the time. So, we usually sleep with the bathroom window open a crack and the bedroom door open so the heat can escape to the front room which has no heat. But, LAST night, we had to close the bedroom door - so we had to open both the bathroom window and the bedroom window all the way. Why'd we close the bedroom door? Because the cabin STUNK. Why'd it stunk? Because of SKUNK! Yes - Skunk. The dogs went out as we were getting ready for bed, and started barking. Then it stopped abruptly and in they came - in all their odiferous glory! They usually sleep in the bedroom with us - but that was NOT going to happen. So, we shut them out of the bedroom. And, now you know why it was so hot in there! And, with the windows open, all the banging was exceptionally loud - especially the clumping in the bedroom from the wind coming in & catching stuff on the walls, the window blinds, rattling the doors... UGH.

So, was it the noise, the stink, the heat, or the bed? You decide!

Btw.. we have an identification on one of the bushes! It's rose hips from a wild rose bush!
