Well, we finally got the go-ahead on our remodel (as I mentioned yesterday) so today we got all the JUNK out of that cabin. I don't think it had been cleaned since 1962. Jeff even said he felt like he should be wearing rubber gloves. UGH. Nearly all of it went to the dump. I think we only took out like 3 small boxes of stuff and few pictures and a couple pieces of furniture. But very little. We did find some arrowheads someone had tossed in a dish. This was the central location for the Sheepeater Indians and there are, apparently, a lot of artifacts around. There are some caves just downriver a little ways that have been excavated and a lot of stuff found there.
Jeff wanted to get the carpet ripped out by the end of today, but since a major water leak appeared bubbling right up out of the ground, he had to stop & chase that down. He has determined that there is likely a break in the line that goes to a fire hydrant, but will need to dig it up to be sure. So, that will delay the demo.
We do expect to have a new employee in there sometime the 1st of the week, so an extra body will be helpful. Jeff also had to take time today to work on a washer & to track down some supplies that are supposed to be here for the remodel.
The wolves were singing again last night. There is one particular individual who is quite melodic. He (or She) doesn't just do the normal howl like the others, he (or she) kinda hoots. It's hard to explain but quite fascinating to listen to. I wish I could record them for you all to hear. But, I don't have anything that can really pick up the sound like that. Any sound to record has to be right next to the microphone.
