After a night of intermittent rain, the day is overcast and we are getting intermittent rain showers today also. So, Jeff is working on indoor projects today as raking leaves & yard work is miserable, not to mention difficult, when everything is wet. He has fixed a picture that had come loose in it's frame & hung crooked (it's the little things that really bug him) and re-sanded & re-finished the top of 4 tables that the wrangler had stripped & put a finish on this winter. But, for Jeff, it just wasn't quite up to par so he's doing a little upgrading.
On the up side - I slept good! Someone must have been praying because I feel WAY better today than the last couple days.
This afternoon we did a little cleaning around the lodge and Jeff cleaned several of the mounts - they were DIRTY, and we all know how he is about taxidermy!
HEY - We heard wolves yesterday - our first time for hearing them here. Yes, they do sound just like in the movies! Josie sure doesn't like it, she spins around in circles like she's expecting them to attack any second and from any direction! These wolves were actually a long ways away, but she didn't seem to know that. Then, today, there were coyotes just across the river. THOSE Josie wanted to rip to shreds, man! "Let me at 'em!" Although, if she actually SAW them, it might be a different story.
The bad news for the day was that they've canceled tomorrow's plane due to weather. So, no more deliveries until the 1st part of next week :( We are all very sad - no junk food for Jeff, no tv for Ben and no groceries for me. It might be a long week!
Ben's highlight for the day (besides sitting by the fire doing his homework listening to the rain in the lodge) was the exciting find of an OLD 4-wheeler. The wranglers had said it was dead & it was just sitting in the weeds. Jeff messed w/ it a few minutes, gave the pull cord a yank & it fired up!! So, he has dubbed it Bendigo's new toy.
