Isn't this going to be a great fireplace? It turned out very well, in my opinion. The 2 guys you see are our two volunteers, Kevin & Luke, who've done the lion's share of the work.
We are having wolf trouble lately. A couple days ago, a horse showed up w/ a very bad gash in it's shoulder, we assume from landing on a t-post. Today, another one showed up w/ a terrible wound on the front of his hock - I'm not sure he'll recover to a point we can use him to the level we need to. There were wolves in the pasture this a.m., above the horses and lots of tracks down in the water gap. And, we're missing between 2 and 6 horses also. (No, we're not sure of the exact # for reasons too lengthy to explain). So, we've moved them closer & hope to actually see the wolves harassing the horses as that would give us the needed reason to eliminate some. It's so frustrating to see horses show up with such terrible wounds that are totally preventable! I wish some environmentalists could see the damage wolves do.
